  1. CAT :

CAT is known as the “Common Admission Test “ It is conducted by IIIM’s( Indian Institutes of Management ) at an all-India level.  It is one of the entrance tests for securing admission to an MBA. CAT is used to evaluate a Candidates abilities, Verbal, Logical thinking, and reasoning,

Eligibility = Minimum Criteria for entrance test exam is a student must have bachelor’s degree in any stream of a recognized university with at least  50 percent.

The exam is divided into the Three Sections which are

 1-Quantitative Ability (34 question)

2-Data interpretation and logical reasoning (32 question)

3-Verbal ability and reading comprehension (34 question)

Each section has 1 hour to solve questions .student can’t switch to other sections while answering questions in one section. After spending 60 minutes on each section student can shift to the next section.

CAT is computer based exam which is  normally conducted by every year in October

/ November .

  • CET –MH :

CET-MH common entrance test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education of Maharashtra for the Master in Business administration (MBA)/ Master in Management Studies(MMS)courses. CET-MH is a regional-level entrance exam. CET- MH is a computer-based test for a full-time course post-graduate degree in the state of Maharashtra. The test is used to evaluate different abilities like verbal, logical reasoning, etc in a candidate.

Eligibility – A candidate requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline of a recognized university with at least 45 percent marks for eligibility .

  • The test carries 200 questions without any section,
  • each question has 5 alternative answer choices.
  • The duration of the CET-MH exam is 150 minutes.
  • Each question carries 1 positive mark and there is no negative marking so students can attempt all questions.
  • CET –MH entrance exam for MBA normally conducted every year in January / February.

  • NMAT :

      NMAT is known as ‘ Narsee  Monjee  Management Aptitude Test. NMAT is an entrance Test for the admission of MBA in NMIMS institutes. NMAT test is conducted by Narsee  Monjee Institute of Management Studies ( NMIMS)

Eligibility = Minimum Three year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

NMAT test consist of three different section . These Three  different section  are language skills, Quantitative skills and logical Reasoning .

Each section contains 32,48,and 40 Questions respectively . The language section has 22 minutes given to solve, where the quantitative skill section and Logical reasoning have 60 minutes and 38 minutes respectively.

Each section has its individuals time and candidate have needed to answer the question of the particular sections within the allotted time. Each section has its fixed time.

One good thing is that there is no negative marking in the NMAT test .

NMAT test is normally conducted every year in the month of December/ January

Colleges= More than 30 B-schools in India and 19 colleges abroad accept NMAT scores for the MBA admission program.

         4-XAT:

XAT is known as the “Xavier Aptitude Test”. XAT is one of the entrance tests for securing admission to an MBA. XAT is conducted by XLRI (Xavier Labor Relations Institute) at all Indian levels. XAT is used to evaluate a student’s logical and analytical reasoning, verbal ability and on spot decision making, etc.

Eligibility =Minimum criteria for XAT entrance exam is a student must have a bachelor  degree in any discipline of recognized university .

XAT test is divided into three section with 101 to 105 questions. Each section consist 30to 40 question

In the XAT test there is  another one section for essay writing. 

Candidate should write an essay on given topic in the test . the topic is related social welfare and common . the essay should be of 250-300 words.

Time limited of essay writing is only 20 minute within given time .

The duration of XAT test is 120 minutes only .correct answer of aptitude test gets 1 marks where incorrect answer carries negative 0.20

 Registration of  XAT  entrance test is normally conducted in  the month  of January every year , and interviews conducted in the month of March .

 Colleges = XLRI participating institutes and more than 160 B-school across India will accept  XAT score

5         SNAP:

SNAP is known as the ‘Symbiosis National Aptitude Test ‘.It is conducted by Symbiosis Institute. Symbiosis in India’s one of the leading institutions and centers. SNAP test is conducted to secure admissions into the Symbiosis Institution for Post Graduates. Verbal reasoning and ability, decision making, and general testing skills and abilities are the most important factors in the test.

 Eligibility = A minimum criterion for  SNAP entrance test is a candidate must be a graduate with at least  50 %  marks  from any recognized university

Candidate who belongs to SC, ST, and PWD should be 45 %.

  • SNAP test consists of four sections.
  • The first three sections consist of 40 marks each which are 
  • General English
  • Quantitative Data Interpretation
  • Data Sufficiency & General knowledge
  • current affairs. (60 Marks )
  • Each wrong answer carries negative 25 % marks. The duration of the test is 120 minutes.

Registration for SNAP entrance test normally goes in November and test is conducted every year in December .
